Culture Solihull (Solihull MBC)

Solihull Culture works to increase engagement in arts and culture borough wide by developing opportunities for residents to take part in arts activity and support the development of the creative and cultural work force.
As resident Producer, Katie develops and delivers a range of projects on behalf of the council. This includes:

- Fresh Air Theatre
An outdoor theatre festival, which took place in 2024 and toured exciting works to every park across Solihull and was seen by over 11,000 people.

- Surreal Solihull
A public art exhibition, which commissioned 30 Solihull artist to create new work inspired by the legacy of artist Emmy Bridgwater.

- Community Artist in Residence
10 artists were commissioned to deliver creative projects in communities across Solihull. These included a Choir in Chelmsley Wood, the creation of an experimental murder mystery film, an early years dance project in libraries and schools, a glass art trail in Knowle, a vocal harmony trio touring to carehomes, and more.

- Together in Solihull
To celebrate Refugee Week, Culture Solihull produces an annual festival in Theatre Square that celebrates the diverse communities in the borough. The programme includes an eclectic mix of community and professional performances such as bollywood and Attan dance, Chinese lion dancers, musicians and storytellers.

Katie also regularly curates the gallery exhibitions as part of the Courtyard gallery.
