Role

Learning & Participation Producer

Katie worked as the Learning and Participation Producer for Lichfield Festival in 2025.

She created and developed the new Young Creatives programme, engaging 30 young people ages 16-25 from Lichfield and the surrounding areas. The programme aimed to support young people who were interested in developing their career in the professional creative sector, through:
- A series of 1-1 bespoke mentoring sessions
- Access to artist rehearsal rooms with Lichfield Festival Associate Artists
- Exclusive Q&A meet & greets with festival artists, including the likes of Strictly Come Dancing's Neil Jones
- Free Festival tickets

Katie also produced the existing Young Critics programme for 2025, which gave young people the opportunity to become reviewers and journalists over the festival period.

In collaboration with Lichfield Arts, Katie also Produced the very first Lichfield Creative Careers Event, which took place at the lichfield Garrick on Tuesday 14th October.
The diverse programme included:
- A creative careers panel featuring a range of industry professionals including Staffordshire Poet Laureate, Scarlett Ward, Filmmaker Daniel Alexander, Musician Cloudy Galvez, and more!
- Workshops in how to be a producer and finding your place in the creative ecosystem
- 1-1 speed mentoring
- Performances
- A next steps marketplace with Creative Appreniceships, College course and more

The programme engaged over 80 young people from 3 schools across Lichfield and the surrounding areas, supporting them to interrogate creative careers and their next steps to enter the industry.

The evening saw a creative careers webinar, which provided a free, open access event for all, chairs by TV Producer Simon Horton.
