The Green Man Climate Festival
In response to a summer of unprecedented weather and growing public concern about the climate crisis, the National Trust and The Fleece Inn, a historic pub in Worcestershire, collaborated to transform the space into a hub for climate conversations. The result was The Green Man Project: a creative reimagining of the traditional pub as a place to engage communities with environmental issues through culture, conversation, and celebration.
Katie worked as Producer on the project on behalf of creative agency Glimpse, programming and delivering a vibrant mix of events designed to inspire and involve. The programme included:
- A Climate Comedy Night to open up tough topics through humour
- A Low-Carbon Beer Tasting exploring sustainable brewing
- A Folk Night celebrating our connection to nature through music
- Climate & Chips - informal pub conversations on climate over food
- Creative Writing & Poetry Workshops with a local school group
- Talks on retrofitting historic houses
Katie led on programming, artist and partner coordination, logistics, and live delivery. Her work helped shape The Green Man into a warm, engaging space for people to reflect on climate issues, sparking dialogue and creativity at the heart of the community.
